The Athabasca Health Authority is reporting a 500 per cent increase in COVID-19 cases since Aug. 27 in Fond-Du-Lac. On Aug. 31 the cases in Fond-Du-Lac were only at four total and have been rising by 200 per cent weekly since then.
According to a media release, only one in three residents of Fond-Du-Lac are fully vaccinated and critical measures are essential as further community activities may cause an increase in COVID-19 cases.
“As it stands, the community of Fond-Du-Lac is presumed to be in a COVID-19 outbreak as earlier projected,” as stated in the release.
They’re strongly recommending an enhanced movement restriction and the postponement of all community activities and parties.
