Man charged for trafficking cocaine near Pinehouse Lake
A man from Calgary is charged with trafficking cocaine after being stopped by police in northern Saskatchewan.
According to an RCMP media release, on Oct. 30 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Pinehouse RCMP stopped a vehicle at the junction of Key Lake Mine and Highway 914. The officer observed marijuana and related paraphernalia in plain sight.
During a resulting search of the vehicle, the officer located a number of small bags of cocaine within the vehicle’s gearshift console. Drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash and a stolen Alberta license plate were also seized from the vehicle.
“Because of this police officer’s keen attention to detail, we were able to keep drugs off the streets of our community,” stated Sgt. Daniel Lozinski, Pinehouse RCMP’s detachment commander. “We are committed to keeping our community safe – it’s this kind of vigilance that helps us do that.”
