Provincial park launches survey about Nut Point winter trail usage

Feb 10, 2022 | 12:07 PM

Users of the winter trails at Nut Point Campground have until the end of March to complete an online survey.

Administration with the Lac La Ronge Provincial Park launched the survey in January to gather information from those who are accessing amenities at the campground in the winter. The survey includes six questions, along with a section to write any comments concerning the winter trails.

“We’re interested in knowing what types of recreation users are partaking in at Nut Point, whether it be walking with your dog, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, things like that,” manager Natasha Merriman said. “Also, we’re just interested in the time of day the trails are being used and how frequent they are being used.”

In February 2021, loops one and two at Nut Point were converted from ski trails to multi-purpose use. The change was made to provide more recreational opportunities and to mitigate some of the damage done to the ski trails by those using the loops to walk.
