Upcoming waterline work to interrupt services in Air Ronge

Oct 31, 2022 | 2:24 PM

Air Ronge council wants some residents to be aware of waterline repairs in their area.

Work on a waterline located on Norseman Street East began last week and is expected to resume Nov. 2 or 3. A public notice states a small leak in the return line that feeds the area was found while crews were completing work on a separate issue.

As the return line has remain pressurized, there are no concerns in respect to the safety of the water supply in the area at the moment. The delay in moving forward with the dig is a requirement to receive a satisfactory water test from the Saskatchewan Research Council following the first repair that concluded Oct. 28.

“While the repairs are underway, your water service will be completely interrupted,” the notice said. “Our crews anticipate that the work could take as little as half a day, however, in the event of an unforseen issue, we are encouraging residents to have enough potable water on hand to last two days for food consumption, preparation and cleaning. We will advise further if there are any changes to the timeline.”

The affected area is the southern half of Anson Street and a portion of Beaver Street up to Norseman Street East.

Once repairs are completed, a boil water advisory will be in place for the area until another satisfactory test is returned. Results will be available between Nov. 7-11.
