Awareness walk planned on six-year anniversary of Happy Charles’ disappearance

Apr 1, 2023 | 8:00 AM

Six years after she vanished, Prince Albert police and family and friends of Happy Charles will gather for an awareness walk.

Happy Charles went missing on the first Monday in April 2017 and was last seen in the area around Prince Albert Collegiate Institute (PACI).

On Monday, members of the Prince Albert Police Service will join in a walk to raise awareness of her disappearance.

“Someone has the information we need and we need them to come forward to help Happy’s family find closure,” said Sgt. Kathy Edwardsen with the Historical and Missing Person section.

In the years since Happy went missing, her family, police, and members of the community have worked to raise awareness about her disappearance and appeal for information that could help find her.

The walk is planned for 10 a.m. Monday and starts near PACI and will make its way along 22nd Street, heading West toward the PAGC billboard across from the Victoria Hospital on 10th Ave. W.

Prince Albert police continue to investigate the disappearance and have interviewed numerous witnesses.

Happy Charles was born on March 22, 1975. She has brown eyes and black hair and a scar on her left cheek. She has a tattoo of a rose on her right hand.

Anyone with details on her disappearance is asked to contact police.
