Survey released to gauge interest in changing hours for alcohol and cannabis providers
The public has until April 10 at noon to participate in a survey about changing or eliminating La Ronge’s Sale of Alcohol & Cannabis Bylaw.
The survey is in response to a request from Patrick Campling, the majority owner of Lakeside Spirits, who asked town council to amend the bylaw to allow liquor retail stores to be open longer hours. Under the current bylaw, liquor retail stores are permitted to remain open Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays and statutory holidays.
Campling would like to see the hours expanded to 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. for all seven days of the week regardless of holidays.
The survey, which can be found online here, includes nine questions. The questions include whether or not an individual supports changing the retail store hours for alcohol and cannabis outlets or eliminating the bylaw altogether and reverting to provincially regulated hours.
