Gilbert is survived by his loving family, his wife, Clara Linklater; his children, Miriam (Ernest), Lucy, Glenda, Jackie (Gilford), Joannie, Willis, Ronald, Kenny, Gilbert Jr. (Jackie), Clarence (Jackie); 37 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, David (Doreen), Susan (Lloyd), Marie, Evelyn (Coulter), Graham (Eileen); his sister-in-law, Maggie Halcrow.

He was predeceased by his parents, Peter & Catherine (née Merasty) Linklater; his siblings, George, Maryann, Margaret; his brother-in-law, John Halcrow; his daughter-in-law, Tina; his son-in-law, Marcel; his 9 grandchildren; and his 7 adopted siblings.

The Prayer Service for Gilbert will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK, with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. The Wake Services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, and Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Pelican Narrows Band Hall, in Pelican Narrows, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, in Pelican Narrows, SK, with Father Heinner Paucar, OMI, officiating. Interment to follow at Moise Bear Memorial Gardens, in Pelican Narrows, SK. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
