New record set at Eagle Point Classic
A new record has been set at the Pimiskatan Canoe Club’s 30th annual Eagle Point Classic on Saturday.
Trevor Robinson and Lori Mack of Saskatoon finished the 17.75-kilometre race in one hour, 47 minutes and 16 seconds, about one minute faster than the previous record. They were followed by Eddy Risseeuw and Nichole Golden of Saskatoon at one hour and 56 minutes, and Sid and Ragnar Robinson (no relation to Trevor Robinson) in one hour and 58 minutes.
Sid Robinson, who was also one of the organizers of the Eagle Point Classic, explained even though the record was broken by only about a minute, that is still significant.
“It is significant because the conditions weren’t ideal,” he explained.
