Chief Bobby Cameron re-elected for fourth term as FSIN Chief

After hours of hand counting, the results are in for the The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) election.

Chief Bobby Cameron will return for a fourth term.

He came out on top with 765 votes over Alyson Bear, FSIN’s former Third Vice Chief, who only received 258 votes.

On the campaign trail, Cameron said if he is re-elected he will “continue to uphold, promote, and protect inherited treaty rights.”

FSIN First Vice Chief David Pratt was also successful in seeking re-election for a third term.

He won with a total of 849 votes. Jocelyn Chaplin Campbell trailed behind with 125 votes and Milton Gamble came in third with 55 votes.

On the campaign trail, Pratt said he wants a framework on the treaty right to health, and a vision for health care for Indigenous people in the next decades.

Fabian Head also won the race for Third Vice Chief with 507 votes.

TCU place in Saskatoon was packed for most of the afternoon Thursday as people eagerly waited for the results to come in. There was a roar of applause when Cameron was re-elected.

The FSIN advocates for Indigenous rights and represents over 160,000 people from 74 First Nations in Saskatchewan.
