Linda Marianna Beck (Keehborn)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Marianna Beck (Keehborn) on December 18, 2024. She left behind a loving family, who will forever cherish her memory. Linda was born on November 23, 1948, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to the late John and Helen Keehborn. She was the youngest of two children.

At the age of five, the Keehborn family relocated to Prince Albert. Linda often shared stories of the financial hardships her family faced during her youth. Growing up with little money or material possessions, she knew what it was like to go without. These challenges deeply shaped her character and fueled her determination to create a better life for her own children. Linda’s childhood experiences inspired her to be the kind of mother who overcompensated with love and generosity, ensuring that her children never felt the struggles she had endured.

Linda’s life changed forever on November 23, 1967, when, while traveling to La Ronge with a friend, she was warned about a man named Alex Beck. Little did she know, that evening she would meet the love of her life. Less than a year later, Linda and Alex were engaged and married on July 27, 1968. Together, they built a beautiful life in La Ronge, where they spent the next 56 years, raising four children and creating a loving home. Their 55-year marriage was one of deep love and devotion, lasting until Alex’s passing on January 8, 2024. Linda’s love for him remained unwavering until her final breath.

Linda leaves behind her four beloved children: Cindy Beck, Tammy (Guy) Watt, Angela (Shannon) Dumont, and Adam (Darren) Beck. She was the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Melissa, Johnathon, Julia, Kayla, Reilly, and Jazlyn, and great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Keehborn, her nephews Ron and Marcus, and her niece Tracy.

Throughout her life, Linda was a devoted homemaker, raising her children while running a home daycare. In 1991, she embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, opening Linda’s Little Store, where she worked tirelessly and found great joy in her business. In 2003, she joined the La Ronge Coop, where she worked for 15 years before retiring on April 27, 2018.

Linda had a deep passion for gardening, which was evident in her beautiful yard that became a testament to her love for flowers. Each year, she would plant thousands of flowers, turning her yard into a vibrant, blooming oasis. She had an innate talent for nurturing plants, creating a paradise of colors and scents that brought joy to everyone who visited. She even had dad build a greenhouse, which became her sanctuary, where she spent countless hours tending to her plants and cultivating her love for flowers. Her dedication to her garden was unmatched, and her yard was often admired by friends, family, and neighbors. It was a reflection of Linda herself—loving, nurturing, and full of life.

Her enthusiasm for Christmas was legendary; her home was filled with festive decorations, both inside and out. The elaborate Christmas village she meticulously built over the years was a source of pride and wonder for all who saw it. The large, lush Christmas tree, lovingly enhanced by Alex with extra branches, was always the centerpiece of their holiday celebrations.

Linda also enjoyed traveling in her younger years, with Las Vegas being a favorite destination she cherished, especially the trips she took with Alex. One of her fondest memories was a trip to Montreal with friends, which she spoke about often and with great affection.

Linda was fortunate to have many close friends in La Ronge, and she truly cherished each of these lifelong relationships. Over the years, Linda built strong connections with those around her, and her friendships were a source of great joy and comfort. Whether through shared laughter, support during difficult times, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Linda valued her friends deeply and held them close to her heart. Some of Linda’s favorite nights were spent playing card games with her friends, enjoying their company and the “friendly” competition between her and Alex.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Keehborn; her in-laws, Harold and Gwen Beck; her brother-in-law Brian; her sister-in-law Barb; her son-in-law Bobby Sych; her great grandson Samuel Henderson, and numerous other family members.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to those around her. She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.

In accordance with Linda’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Alex Beck, in a private ceremony with immediate family present.
