Riders face road start, finish to 2019 season

The CFL has a gift for its fans just in time for Christmas.

The league has released the 2019 football schedule and it keeps the Roughriders away from home for the first two weeks of the season.

The Riders’ first home game comes on Canada Day, a 5.....

Riders secure 3 free agents in busy week before Christmas

The Roughriders free agent wish list got a little shorter this week.

The club wrapped up three pending free agents including receiver Patrick Lavoie, defensive tackle Zack Evans and defensive back Louchiez Purifoy.

Purifoy was the latest announcement, made Wednesday morning, with Evans’ announcement coming Tuesday and Lavoie’s.....

Evans staying with Riders through 2022

The Roughriders announced Tuesday morning that defensive tackle Zack Evans has signed a contract extension that will keep him in green and white for the foreseeable future.

Evans, 28, returned to the Roughriders in 2018 after the club lost him in the Ottawa Redblacks expansion draft, where he played.....

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have stabilized their receiving corps for the 2019 season, announcing Monday they had signed Canadian receiver Patrick Lavoie to a two-year contract extension.

The seven-year CFL vet will now be with the team through the end of the 2020 season.

He joined the Roughriders last.....

Former Rider Justin Cox sentenced to a year in jail

Justin Cox is going to jail

The former Roughrider defensive back pleaded guilty to a brutal assault of his former partner and was sentenced in a Regina courtroom Friday morning.

In a lengthy and thorough ruling, Justice Leslie Halliday sentenced Cox to nine months in jail for assault.....
