Boaters rescued after vessel sinks on Lac La Ronge

A group of boaters were rescued by a Good Samaritan this afternoon when their vessel began to sink in Lac La Ronge.
La Ronge RCMP were dispatched around 2 p.m. after learning three boaters were in distress. Each member of the group wore a life jacket at the time the boat sank and were rescued by another boat in the area before police arrived.
Mounties continue to investigate why the boat sank and have thanked the passerby who aided the three in the water.
In a press release, members of the detachment reminded the public that if it weren’t for life jackets, this story could have a different ending.
