Posts about attempted abductions circulating on a La Ronge-based social media page were found to be related to children at play rather than any criminal incident, according to the RCMP.

Officers were made aware of the posts June 11, RCMP said, but said no complaints were received by police relating to any alleged abduction. However, on June 10, La Ronge RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious truck travelling through the Sucker River area.

Further investigation found no attempted abductions took place, RCMP said. Children were playing a game which involved running away from vehicles, RCMP said, which may have led to the social media posts.

While the investigation has concluded, RCMP asked anyone with information or concerns to contact the La Ronge RCMP detachment.
