Jun 24, 2018 | 8:58 AM

Two men are in custody after an attempted armed robbery early Saturday morning on the Lac La Ronge Indian Reserve.

Police said three men wearing dark clothing with their faces covered approached the driver of a vehicle on the reserve at around 12:44 a.m. on June 23 and demanded he get out. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, did not get out and the suspects fled the scene.

Officers later located two suspects nearby and arrested them without incident. Keenan Stewart and Nolan Ross are charged with robbery, imitating the use of a firearm during a robbery,  assault with a weapon, carrying a prohibited weapon, disguise with intent to commit an offence and unlawful confinement. Stewart also faces one charge of obstruction. Both are set to appear in La Ronge court Monday.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
