New transport service between La Ronge and Prince Albert

Aug 20, 2018 | 10:00 AM

A new company is transporting passengers and freight between La Ronge and Prince Albert.

KCTI officially launched operations today with plans to service the two communities on weekdays. Charanjit Singh and his business partner, Harkanwal Singh, are both from Prince Albert and will operate the charter service. According to Charanjit Singh, KCTI will be using a new 15-passenger transit van on the route and they have plans to expand if there’s enough interest.

“If we get a good response, then we’ll extend it to Saskatoon as well,” he said.

The van will be in the tri-communities every morning from Monday to Friday with pick-ups at La Ronge’s Kikinahk Friendship Centre at 8:30 a.m., and the Air Ronge Co-op Gas Bar at 8:45 a.m. The van is expected to reach Prince Albert by noon, Singh added, and will leave the city back to La Ronge at 5 p.m. with an estimated arrival time of 8 p.m. There will be no return trip on Fridays.
