Water discolouration possible in Air Ronge as lines are flushed this week

Residents of Air Ronge could notice discolouration in their tap water starting Sept. 12.

That’s according to village administrator Charmayne Szatkowski who said municipal employees will begin flushing pipelines later this week. She noted the flushing is done once per year as part of Water Security Agency rules every community in Saskatchewan follows. While Szatkowski added flushing could be done by Friday, she stated there’s still a chance the work will continue into next week.

“They just open up the hydrants, flush the lines, and sometimes there can be a little bit of discolouration,” she said. “You just run the water out of the tap until it’s clear and you’re good to go.”

Residents should also be mindful of discolouration while doing laundry as the water could stain clothes.
