La Ronge RCMP believe alcohol was a factor in recent collision

Nov 1, 2018 | 3:04 PM

La Ronge RCMP suspect alcohol was a factor in a recent two-vehicle collision near a local business along Highway 102.

That’s according to an RCMP media release, which stated officers received a report about the collision Oct. 28 at approximately 8:20 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found three out of four vehicle occupants had sustantial injuries and two were trapped inside the vehicles. With the assistance of La Ronge EMS and the La Ronge Regional Fire Department, the occupants were extracted using a hydraulic rescue tool called the jaws of life.

The release stated one passenger was subsequently transported to Saskatoon with what are described as serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing, but police believe road conditions, low visibility and alcohol are related factors in the collision.
