Half of Saskatchewan families on verge of bankruptcy

Saskatchewan families are just barely staying financially afloat.

The latest numbers according to accountancy firm MNP's Consumer Debt Index is that half of the province's residents are only $200 away from bankruptcy after they pay their regular bills.

Wildlife collisions cost millions: SGI spokesperson

There were over 15,000 wildlife collision claims provincially in 2017 which cost around $80 million.

Tyler McMurchy with SGI said those numbers haven't gone down over the last three months.

"There were 6,047 wildlife claims reported to SGI between October 10, 2018 and January 10, 2019,” he said......

A Saskatchewan astronomer is excited about the data a NASA spacecraft will send back to Earth.

James Edgar of Melville, a former president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, said NASA's New Horizon's explorer has already sent back data from space. The encounter submitted was with Ultima Thule,.....

The province of Saskatchewan experienced wildly different temperatures Sunday, Dec. 30.

Key Lake was a bitter -46.4 degrees Celsius. The low temperature was brisk enough to make it the coldest place in Canada. On the flip side, Maple Creek was the hottest place in Saskatchewan, at a pleasant 4.6.....
