Adam Kosowan

It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Adam L. Kosowan on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 70 years.
Adam was born to George and Lily (nee Oleksuik) Kosowan on Thursday, May 5, 1949, in Prince Albert, SK. He attended school at Weirdale, Meath Park High, and the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with a degree in Agriculture, receiving scholarships throughout the 4 years.
In 1971, Adam’s first job after university was in Canora, SK, with Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture. In 1973, he started employment with Lands Branch in Prince Albert, SK. 1974, Adam transferred to Forestry Branch. Adam was a Provincial Duty Officer with Fire Control and held various positions with Parks Branch. Adam completed his 35 year career as a Boreal Ecologist with Sask Environment. After retirement, Adam continued farming with his sons. Adam took pride in his work throughout his career with the Province and on the family farm. Adam had a true passion for agriculture and enjoyed working with his family.
Adam spent many years coaching hockey and soccer for his boy’s teams. He also spent many good years camping, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Adam also enjoyed volunteering at the Orthodox Church and developed many lifelong friendships. He was proud and devoted to the Church and was a past president.
As his family was growing up, many camping trips and vacations were enjoyed. After retirement, Adam and Sylvia would get away to hotter climates during the winter. Adam was passionate about the outdoors and could often be found driving around the farm enjoying the wildlife and catching a beautiful sunset.
Adam is survived by his wife, Sylvia (nee Pawlyshyn) of 48 years; his three sons, Jason Kosowan, Tyler (Jennifer Isbister) and Jaret Kosowan; his sister, Shirley (Bill) Pryszlak; his brother, Gerald (Dorothy) Kosowan; his mother-in-law, Jean Pawlyshyn; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Janice Pawlyshyn; his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, his Church Family and his many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Lily Kosowan; his sister, Darlene; his father-in-law, Adolph Pawlyshyn.
Adam’s Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at River Park Funeral Home, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK, and the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, May 27, 2019, at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 305 6th Street East, Prince Albert, SK, The Reverend Father Michael Lomaskiewicz officiating.
