Adele B. L’Heureux (Labrecque)
March 23, 1942 – June 7, 2025
With love and gratitude, we remember Adele L’Heureux, beloved wife of Marcel L’Heureux of La Ronge, SK, who passed away peacefully at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert at the age of 83.
A devoted mother, Adele cherished her children: Marc (Laurie) of La Ronge, SK, Michele Hatley (Walter) of Prince Albert, SK and Dan (Katrina) of Fernie, BC. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Darren (Lindy Cairns), Nicole Clark (Neil), Travis Hatley (Gina Stewart), and Janelle Hatley (Jesse Ross); and she was blessed with great-grandchildren, Ashley and Kevin Clark.
The youngest of thirteen siblings, Adele was predeceased by most of her family but is lovingly remembered by Sister Alice, Leo (Georgette), and Lucille Nawrocki (Rocki), as well as sisters-in-law, Kathy, Jane, Carol, and Diane L’Heureux.
Born in Rosetown, SK, Adele married Marcel in 1959, embarking on a life full of adventure and dedication for the next 66 years. Together, they blazed a trail, first moving between northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba to Saskatoon, and Vancouver during Marcel’s university years before settling in Creighton, SK, in 1966. Their journey continued to Prince Albert and, ultimately, to La Ronge in 1972, where they raised their family, and built a family cabin on Lac La Ronge that is continuing to be enjoyed by four generations.
A lover of nature and exploration, Adele participated in school canoe trips and family camping excursions that created lifelong memories. Camping was her window to the world, from traversing the Alaska Highway in the early 1970s to exploring northern Saskatchewan, and then the United States, and the Maritimes in retirement.
She was a master of craftsmanship, using her hands to create warmth and comfort for her loved ones. Her knitting and quilting were not just hobbies but expressions of love, celebrating family and commemorating graduations and weddings, and supporting her community. Adele’s passion for gardening and blooming plants reflected her nurturing spirit. In the years between raising her family and her retirement, Adele worked admin at the La Ronge Medical Clinic.
