Albert “Bert” Robert was born on Sunday, February 13, 1927 in Steep Creek, SK, and passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Prince Albert, SK. Bert married Sheila Parker and they moved to Prince Albert as he started work at Burns Meats. Bert worked until the closure of Burns Meats at which time he started working in Rabbit Lake Mine in the maintenance department. Bert retired in 1992 and moved to Emma Lake where he enjoyed ice fishing, campfire times with his family and friends, and the summer times in the boat with a fishing rod in his hand. Bert was known as “Grandpa” by all that knew him. Bert is survived by his wife, Sheila Robert (nee Parker); his sons, Ken (Debbie) Robert and Wayne (Stephen Dickey) Robert; his daughters, Marlene Dayman and Maxine (Darrell) Dragseth; his grandchildren, Brook, Kristinn, Aaron, Emily, Kala, Kody; his great-grandchildren, Fynn, Rosa, Chloe, Opal and Hayden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Anne Robert (nee Desormeau); his brothers, Robert, Alfred, Edward, Joe, Edmond (Moe), and Raymond; his sisters, Albina, Irene and Emma. A Celebration of Life will be held for Bert at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Army & Navy Veterans Club, downstairs, 25-11 Street West in Prince Albert. Interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of tributes, memorial donations can be made in Albert’s honor to Rose Garden Hospice P.O. Box 2092 Prince Albert, SK, S6V 5R3.
