It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mr. Andrew Haugen. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He passed on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 71 years, surrounded by his family.
Andy was born on Friday, May 16, 1947, in Prince Albert, SK. He worked at the pulp and paper mill for 33 years as an E/I Mechanic until his retirement in 2001. He and his wife, Anita, spent the next 12 years operating Shetoby Kennels at their acreage west of Prince Albert until their second retirement in 2014.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and training Labrador Retrievers. He was a family man who never took things for granted and appreciated all of God’s blessings. Andy was surrounded by a loving family his entire life. He was a devoted father who spent many hours coaching ball, being a scout leader and spending time with his kids and his wife. Later in life, he was a grandfather to 5 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He loved watching them grow and called them all “little miracles.”
Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Anita Haugen (nee Comtois); his children, Marc (Terri) Haugen and Carolyn (Joel) Bilodeau; his grandchildren, Kennedy and Kaitlyn Haugen, Sophie, Damien and Noah Bilodeau; his sister, Betty Lo; his brother, Lawrence (Terry) Haugen; his in-laws, Marcel Comtois, Claudette (Robert) Bonneau, Loise (Gordon) Epp and Alan Henderson; his nephews, Tyron, Todd, Adam, Richard and Terry; his nieces, Misty, Kim, Alana, Lisa, Dawn; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Josephine Haugen; his father and mother-in law, Ovila and Simone Comtois; his sister, Yvonne Henderson; his brother-in law, Jo Lo; and his nephews, David Lo and Serge Bonneau.
