Bruce Albert Freeland
February 23,1935 – November 28, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Freeland announce his passing on November 28, 2018 at the Victoria Hospital.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean, his daughter Gwen (Shawn) Banks, son-in-law Ron Czemeres, grandchildren; Megan (Tanner) Marcer, Thomas (Madie) Latzkowski, Megan Banks, Amanda (Brandon) Krishan, Victoria (Eric) Krishan, and Nicholas Krishan, his sister Betty Harcourt, and brother-in-law Jim (Agnes) Horne.
Bruce was born in Prince Albert, SK. After completing school, he was employed by CNR and the Highway Traffic Board. In 1968 he started working at P.A. Pulp Mill as a millwright until his retirement in 1997. Bruce excelled in many sports throughout his life, especially hockey, playing defense with the PA Minto’s and the Melfort Mustangs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. The time at his cabin on Lac La Ronge with family and friends was of particular joy to him.
Bruce was pre-deceased by his parents, Mary and George Freeland, his daughter Maria Lynn Freeland and two sisters; Clara Freeland and Gale Doan.
A private family service will take place at a later date in Lac La Ronge. Donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice. Family and friends are invited to sign the online tribute page at www.grays.ca
