Dan Cody was born to Emmet and Evelyn Cody on December 11, 1940 in Humboldt, SK. Dan, his parents, and siblings Cliff and Donna, grew up in the St. Rose area, Manitoba. When Dan was 23 years old he returned to Humboldt and met his one true love, Jean. On May 20, 1967, Dan and Jean were married and together they had two children, Ryan and Renee. Dan and Jean moved to Prince Albert shortly after marrying and Dan spent the majority of his career at the Prince Albert Credit Union.
Dan loved golfing at Cooke Municipal Golf Course in Prince Albert and Humboldt Golf Course. But, he especially cherished his time with Jean on their golf holidays to the States and Qualicum Beach, BC, making many special friends at the Brigadoon Golf Course.
Dan also enjoyed puttering around the family cabin in Candle Lake, SK. Over the years Dan and Jean made many improvements to the cabin and everyone who visited always received a warm welcome. There was many a Happy Hour enjoyed at the “Codloyherski” deck on the water with Dan and Jean’s friends, so close knit they were more like family.
Going for coffee with friends at A&W and McDonald’s and watching westerns on his I-PAD were two of Dan’s favourite things to do. Dan lived his life with a positive attitude, sense of humour and most importantly with incredible personal strength. He had an enormous heart – always having an interest in how others were doing, was honourable, witty and compassionate. All of these special traits allowed him to make the best of any situation he encountered with grace.
Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean, and two children and their families: Ryan – son Riley Paradis (Jenny and son, Rowan) and daughter Keely Cody Braun (fiancé Geoff and son Xavier). Renee – husband Mike, son Aidan and daughter Tegan. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws, Terry Loehr, Ralph Frank, Garry Loehr and Murray Loehr; sister-in-laws, Yvonne Cody, Joan Frank, Elaine Loehr, Karen Loehr, and Loretta Loehr; and numerous much loved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Emmet and Evelyn Cody, siblings Donna Loehr and Cliff Cody, parents-in-law Irvin and Dora Loehr, and brother-in-law, Mervin Loehr.
