Mr. Donald Brunsdon passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK.
Donald John was born to parents Albert and Eliza Brunsdon on October 21, 1920. He was the youngest of 5 children. Don went to Crystal Plains school until grade 8, when he left school to pursue farming with his family, which turned into a lifelong passion. Music always played an important role in Don’s life. Don picked up his first instrument at age 5 and was still playing on his 98th birthday. His brother Cyril bought Don his first violin and it remained one of his most prized possessions. Don married Irma McLeod, the love of his life on August 23, 1950. In 68 years of marriage, Don and Irma raised 4 daughters, Brenda, Debra, Donna and Wanda, along with 11 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Music was a staple in the Brunsdon family and the love of music was passed on through the generations. Don was a member of several bands and was an original member of the Cotton Pickers. Don went on to form the Golden Notes with Irma, and they played throughout Saskatchewan for 25 years. Don was active in his community and was always willing to get involved and help anyone who needed it. In the spirit of this, the family asks in lieu of flowers, that acts of kindness be done in Don’s memory.
