Dorothy Tweedie

Dorothy Elizabeth Tweedie (nee Stragier) was born on Sunday, November 17, 1929 in Tisdale, SK, and passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 88 years. Dorothy is survived by her stepdaughter, Lynn (Fred) Fall; her grandson, Noah Fall; her granddaughter, Heidi (Douglas) Sherren; her grandchildren, Emma Fall, Joshua Fall, Jessica Fall, Rebecca Fall, Raelyn Sherren and Meghan Sherren; her brothers, William (Charlotte) and Jack (Claudette) Stragier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy grew up in Sylvania and attended school in Tisdale, SK. She worked at the Prince Albert Sanatorium and was Manager in the Ladies Dept. of CB Department Store, Prince Albert Co-op, and Woolco. Dorothy married Rex Tweedie in September 1953. They lived most of their married life in Prince Albert. She loved to travel and spend time at the lake, and was lots of fun to be around. In her later years, she travelled to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months. In 2008, she moved to the Herb Bassett Home where she lived until her passing. She was a little fighter and made the best of every situation. She always went forward with life. She endured much pain over the later years and still carried on the best she could under the circumstances. Dorothy was a beautiful, caring woman. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Rex Tweedie; her parents, Albert and Elsie (nee Reid) Stragier; her brother Albert; and her sisters, Isobelle and Maxine. Thank you to Dr. Surkan and all of the staff at the Herb Bassett home for the excellent care given to Dorothy in the ten years she resided at the home. Thank you to the staff on level five for their care in her last days. A special thank you to Cathy Jacobs for her excellent care and friendship to Dorothy over these years. Dorothy’s funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK.
