Edward HOEHN
September 2, 1955 – December 5, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edward Hoehn on December 5, 2017. Edward was predeceased by his parents John and Wilhelmina (nee Haberstock) Hoehn. Edward, the youngest of 4 children, was born in Prince Albert, SK and raised in Big River, SK. In his youth had a passion for hunting and automobiles. His love for cars eventually steered him towards auto repair where he has spent the last 40 years growing a successful auto repair business in Prince Albert. Most people know him by “Ed” and he earned a reputation as an honest, trustworthy, and hard-working business owner in the community. Ed didn’t know how to retire and loved to keep himself busy. His first retirement lasted less than a year, then he was back to running a shop full time up until several months ago when his health started to deteriorate. One of Ed’s favourite things to do when he had time was to play with his dogs, often taking them out for runs with his ATVs. He had a strong attachment to his pets and he made time for them every day. He loved antique vehicles, and he liked to show them off to his children and friends. Even after losing a foot earlier this year, he was still able to smoke the tires, which always put a smile on his face. Ed also enjoyed spending time with his wife of 31 years, Michelle, and could often be seen out for supper with her around town. In his down time, he enjoyed relaxing at home in his favourite chair watching their favorite shows together. Ed only grew softer and more loving as the years went on. Family was his world and he loved spending time with his 5 children Jamie Lavalley, Amanda (Jeremy) Olthof, Craig (Meaghan) Hoehn, Andrew (Lisa) Hoehn, Richelle Hoehn, and his 4 grandchildren Danielle, Katelyn, Clara, and Case. His face would light up when one of his children phoned and he loved to help them out as much as he could. Ed is survived by his brother Mark (Joan) Hoehn, and sisters Linda (Leo) Champigny and Marlene Hoehn. A celebration in his honour will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Kevin Shiach officiating. In lieu of other tributes, the family asks for donations to STARS Air Ambulance. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
