Gilbert Louis Merasty was born on Sunday, February 15, 1954, in Sandy Bay, SK, and passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 64 years. Gilbert is survived by his best friend, Helen Bodnar; his children, Adam Ballantyne, Candace Ballantyne (Blair Sands), Kelsey Ballantyne, Dennis Ballantyne, Carson Ballantyne, Miranda Merasty, Gillian Ballantyne; and his 6 grandchildren; the mother of his children, Florence F. Ballantyne; his siblings, Joanne Merasty (Donnie Bell), Glen Merasty, Thomas Merasty, John, Merasty, Catherine Merasty, Arlene Merasty, Elton Merasty (Candace Campbell). He was predeceased by his dad, Joseph August Merasty; his mom, Agnes Merasty (nee Morin); his siblings, Ralph Merasty, Patsy Merasty, Vincent Merasty, Sandra Merasty. Gilbert’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows in Sandy Bay, SK, Father Heinner Daucar officiating.
