BAZLEY, Harry – Born in Canwood, SK. On June 5, 1920 – Died in PIHC in Shellbrook on May 21, 2018
Harry, late of the Ordale district, passed away peacefully in Shellbrook on May 21, 2018 at the age of 97. Harry was the eldest son of Frank and Margaret Bazley. Harry was raised on a farm in the Ordale district with his 3 siblings. After a 4-year tour of duty as a medic in WW2, Harry returned to the Ordale district to farm. It is there he found the love of his life, Anges Elefson. They we married in November 1947 and settled in to farm life. Harry and Agnes were proud farmers and were especially proud of their Maine Anjou cattle. They took every opportunity they could to share their love of dancing. Harry loved visiting with family, friends and neighbors and is fondly know as Uncle Harry to many. In addition to his family, Harry loved Chev trucks, John Deere tractors, cribbage, golf and making sure that everyone was teased just enough for a laugh.
Harry is survived by: His girls he raised with Agnes – daughter Lorraine (Wayne) Saam of Shellbrook; granddaughter Harriet (Corey) Tomporowski of Shellbrook; great grandchildren – Kayla Tomporowski (Jason Wilson) of Neuanlage; Brennan Tomporowski (Haley Enns) of Saskatoon; step-grandchildren – Gerry (Zenia) Saam of Shellbrook and their children Kaelee and Cassidy; Paula Saam (Tim Derr) and their children Dylan and Braydon. Harry is also survived by his sister Grace Hatch, his brother Francis (Thelma) Bazley, and his sister-in law, Doris Wideen-Bazley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Harry was predeceased by; his wife, Agnes (nee: Elefson) Bazley, his parents, Frank and Margaret Bazley, his brother, Roy Bazley, his in-laws, Henry and Olene Elefson, 11 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law, 3 great nieces, 2 great nephews.
The service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Canwood Elks Community Hall at 2:00 pm with Reverend Emmanuel Aristide as Celebrant. Lorraine, Harriet and Kayla will share special memories of Harry. The folks working on the musical items are Becky and Jason Wilson, Rod Gjerde and Odile Aiken. The Honorary Pallbearers will be “All of Harry’s family, friends and House “C” caregivers who knew and loved him.” An Honor Guard will be done by the Canwood Legion. The Pallbearers will be; Shawn Strelau, Evan Strelau, Dan Cyr, Alan Hatch, Alan Larsen, Darrin Thompson. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations may be made to the Shellbrook and Districts Health Services Foundation – Recreation Department. Interment will be in North Concordia Cemetery.
