John George Canada was born on Tuesday, May 11, 1948, in Northwood Lake, SK, and passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 70 years. John is lovingly remembered by his sister, Martha Thomas; his auntie, Cecilia Ballantyne; his uncles, Norman Merasty and Joe Merasty; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Moise and Adeliade (nee Merasty) Canada; his brothers and sisters, Daniel Canada, Paul Canada, Wilfred Canada, Dorothy Sewap, Irene Custer, Solomon Canada; his grandparents, Solomon and Jessie Merasty; his uncle, Henry Merasty; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. John’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Pelican Narrows, SK, Father Heinner Paucer and Reverend Richard Custer officiating.
