John Naylor passed away unexpectedly on October 29th, 2018 in Prince Albert, SK
John was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England on January 1st, 1932. Before emigrating to Canada in 1957, John worked on the family farm milking cows and shearing sheep.  After arriving in Canada, he worked on farms in Ontario and Saskatchewan.  He moved to Prince Albert in 1959 and started a new career as a professional driver.  He worked for various companies hauling many different items, from Buffalo to groceries traveling across Canada and the United States.  John was also employed with P.A. Bus lines for many years.  He had a perfect safety driving record, of which he was very proud.  
John loved sports and as a youngster in England, he played numerous sports including Cricket, Rugby and Soccer.  In Prince Albert, he was very involved in the P.A. Soccer Association in its early years and coached the McGavin Royals and Kinsmen United to provincial titles.  Other interests included bowling, photography and CB radios.  His greatest loves, though, was the north, nature, and fishing.  John easily out-fished anyone he was with and always seemed to know where the best fishing holes were.  An avid interest in prospecting saw “Prospector John” exploring many northern Saskatchewan areas looking for gold.  Spending time with his family was also very important to him and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in many activities.

 John is survived by his four children:  Lee (Sandra) Naylor, Grahame (Donna) Naylor, Elizabeth (Jan) Naylor and Lynn (Manixx) Naylor.  He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother Robert (Gwenda) Naylor and many nieces and nephews.  He is also remembered by Emily Naylor.  John was predeceased by his parents; sister Pauline (Colin) Moulds; partner Jeannette McCallum; and first wife Carole Naylor.

At John’s request, there will be no funeral service.  His ashes will be laid to rest at his favorite place near his cabin in northern Saskatchewan.  Thank you to staff at ICU and Palliative Care at the Victoria Hospital for their excellent care.  The family also gratefully acknowledges the many friends and relatives who visited John in his last days.
