Jonas Nathan Ballantyne “Wapisk Okamaw” was born on Friday, January 10, 1958 in Pelican Narrows, SK, and passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 60 years. Jonas is survived by, his children, Barbara Charles, Rodney Ballantyne, Mikwan Ballantyne; his adopted children, Ivan Sewap, Henry Charles and Feather Ballantyne; his grandchildren, Delora S., Harvey B., Natlaie, Twila, Clayann, Rayna; his special grandchild, Ezra Ballantyne; his great-grandchildren, Roman Hart, Eric Charles, Clyde B.; his siblings, Eliza B., Roy (Loretta) B., Alice S., Doreen (Henry) Naytowhow, Virginia B., and Suzette Jobb; his aunties and uncle, Mary Sewap, Mildred Ratt, Melvin Sewap; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving son, Wayne I.G. Ballanytne (Little Wayne); his parents, Isaac and Sally Ballantyne; his siblings, Terry, Norman, Nancy, Lawrence, Michael, James, Cindy, Bernice McCallum; his grandparents, Albert & Jean Ballantyne, Eliza Sewap, Johnny Custer; his aunties and uncles, Annie B., Nora B., Laura S., Betsy C., Angelique Merasty, Sarah B., Ida & David B., and Stanley B.; his grandchild, Clyde Sewap; his brothers-in-law, Frank McCallum, Melvin Jobb, Ronald Sewap, Larry Ballantyne. Jonas’ funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St Peter’s Anglican Church in Deschambault Lake, SK, Reverend Elias Ballantyne and Paul Ballantyne officiating. Interment to follow at Roberstson Island Cemetery in Deschambault Lake, SK.
