It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Evangeline Kupchyk announces her passing on September 15, 2018, at the Prince Albert Victoria Hospital after a long courageous battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer at the age of 70.
Rose was born October 10, 1947, in Green Lake, SK to Joseph Alexander and Marie Louise Laliberte. She met the love of her life, George William Kupchyk in 1975. They married on December 15, 1979 in Saskatoon, SK and to that union, two children were born, Michael Stephen and Laura Lynne. Rose worked as a Library Technician at Rutherford Library at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and at BCIT library in Burnaby BC. She also worked as a Program Coordinator for West Side Community College in La Ronge, SK but excelled in her career in loving and managing her family for the last 39 years. What made Rose most proud and brought a smile to her face where her two children that she was so very proud of. In her spare time, you could find her enjoying a pro sports game be it NFL, College football, or CFL, but when winter came she loved cheering on her Montreal Canadiens and watching many NHL games.
Rose is predeceased by her parents Joseph Alexander Laliberte, Marie Louise (Roy) Laliberte, and her brothers Lawrence, Walter, Robert, and Rene, as well as In-laws Paul and Anna Kupchyk
Rose’s memory will be forever cherished by her husband George (Prince Albert, SK), her son Michael (Donna-Marie) (Saskatoon, SK), daughter Laura (Vancouver, BC), her sister in law Madelyn Laliberte (son Kevin (wife and sons), sisters; Mary Laliberte (daughter Jackie), Marilyn Onyskevitch (Morris, son Dean (wife and daughter), daughter Tanya (husband and daughters), Lucina Laliberte (Stuart, daughter Cher (daughter), and brother Irvine Laliberte; sisters in law Terri Riches (Bill, son Norman (and family) and daughter Elan (and family), and Natalie Kupchyk, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A Vigil Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 – 14th St. W.
Funeral Service Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 – 14th St. W, with Father Vasyl Kravchuk officiating.
In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in memory of Rose may be made to The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or Canadian Cancer Society.
