Maria Anna Lillian Thomas
October 14, 1924 – December 3, 2017
Sadly, but with fond memories, the family of Lil Thomas announces her peaceful passing on December 3, 2017 in Big River, SK. Maria Anna Lillian was born October 24, 1924 in Bodmin, SK to Fidele and Anna (Legouffe) Doucette.
Lil loved gardening and animals, especially her pet dogs and cats. She was an adventurous and high-spirited woman who got her driver’s license when she was 54 (to become more independent)! She married Fletch in 1959 and resided in Nanaimo. In 1990, they moved to Kaslo, BC. Saskatchewan became their province in 2002. Unfortunately, Lil suffered a stroke and was required to move into long term care. Big River Health Centre was her home for 8 years; her family appreciates and thanks the staff for the compassionate, excellent care given to Lil during that time.
Lil is survived by: her grandchildren, Tammy (Magrath) Morin, Kurt Magrath, Shaya & Dylan Magrath; daughter-in-law, Ilsa Magrath; sister, Bertha Levesque; great grandchildren, Talia, Owen & Aaron, Iaisha; step great grandchildren, Chaneil, Kaden, Roan, Rhea, Damon, James, & Jaylene; great great grandchildren, Tegan, Brody, & Bria; father of her children, Harold Magrath; special friend, Chris Smolla.
Lil was predeceased by: her husband, Fletcher; children, Gary, Jacqueline, & David Magrath; siblings, Joe, Gertrude, Ernest, Beatrice, Alexander, Roland, Paul, John, Julian, & Juliet; grandsons, Allan Magrath & Shane Magrath; great grandson, Thomas Warriner.
