Marion Norma Elma Johnston, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on May 1, 2018 in Prince Albert at the age of 90 years after a short battle with Cancer. Mom and Dad were married December 14, 1951. Marion is survived by her three daughters: Bernice (Wilf Paulhus) from Prince Albert, SK, and grandchildren: Perry from Saskatoon, SK and Melynda (Vince) Gaudet and great- grandchildren: Denis, Colton and Preston from Bellevue, SK; Donna (Dick Gottselig) from Kelowna, BC, and grandchildren: Diane and great- granddaughter Ashyln from Kelowna, B.C., and granddaughter Dr. Kristy Gottselig from Calgary, AB; Janelle (Bob Ernst) from Shellbrook, SK and grandchildren: Janessa (Nick Lepine) from Moose Jaw, SK, and great- grandson Ricky and great- granddaughter Ella; and granddaughter Kimberley (Brayden Hart) from Shellbrook; her sister: Eileen Fitch and her closest friend of 57 years: Cleo Quinn. She is also survived her brother-in-law: Bill Morrissey and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents: Marjorie and Michael Murtagh; her husband of 66 years: Bob in July of 2017; her brother and sister-in-law: Maurice and Ann Murtagh; her sister: Jean Morrisey and brother-in-law: Delbert Fitch. Her greatest love was her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was always so happy to see everyone. Marion worked as a bookkeeper at Hardply, Thorpe Brothers and later the Prince Albert School Board. Dad and Mom loved going to Hemet, California for over 20 years. Mom and Dad spent the winters in Hemet and the summers in Waskesiu. Mom loved her dainties. Her homemade buns were famous. She was an avid bowler and won trophies. She played 10 pin bowling in Hemet, California. Sometimes she would walk to the alley, play four games of bowling and walk home. This was over 2 kms one way. Mom was a people person and would talk to everyone and anyone. She could make a friend in the line up getting groceries. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th St W, Prince Albert, SK, with Deacon Eldon Danielson as Celebrant. We would like to thank Dr. Mark Halyk and the staff at Mont St. Joseph Home. Their compassion before and after Mom getting sick was really appreciated. Also the Walk of Dignity was very touching. As per Marion’s request in lieu of flowers to place memorials to Mont St. Joseph’s Country Gardens or to the Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
