It is with great sadness that the family of Pamela Evelyn Burt announces that she passed away at Mont St Joseph Home in the early morning hours of June 14, 2019 at the age of 89.
Pam was born in Beckenham, England on March 22, 1930. She was the first child of two born to Robert and Evelyn Henville.
She trained as a secretary and worked at the British Medical Association until she married a dashing young doctor, John Burt, on July 24, 1954. Together they raised four children, starting out in England and then immigrating to Canada in August, 1967.
Pam enjoyed being a housewife but also wanted to work outside the home, and so she worked at the Satellite Station, Prince Albert Daily Herald, City Social Service Centre, and finally the Department of Fisheries.
Pam was an outstanding volunteer and community member. She volunteered in various capacities for almost 50 years for the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region and was a member of many clubs, groups, and service organizations.
She loved her family, her friends, her dogs, nature and travel.
Pam is survived by her children: Susan, Penny (Gary Zelensky), Jane (Jim Brown), and Ian (Betty-Ann Adam). She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Jean Henville, and many nieces and nephews in England.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, brother Peter, sisters-in law Sheila and Mary, and brothers-in-law Bill and Jonah, and her many precious dogs.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Mont St. Joseph’s for the outstanding care they gave Pam since she became a resident there last year.
A Celebration of Pam’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Mont St. Joseph Foundation, 777 28 Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2.
