Robert Deault was born July 27, 1940. Robert passed away at the Rosthern Hospital on March 2, 2018 at the age of 77. Robert is well known as the “chicken guy” who co-owned and operated Ed’s Inn in Prince Albert with his wife Lois Pedersen-Deault. Robert spent his childhood on a farm just north of Bellevue where he and his wife at that time (Diane Bussière) raised their three children: Rachelle Deault (Rodger Thiessen); Angel (Leo Denis) and Alain Deault (Kerry). Along with farming, Robert also worked as: a tour guide at the Batoche National Historic Site, Purolator driver, assistant cook and custodian at various construction sites and as a farmhand. He was never scared to try different things however his COPD took quite a toll on him and prevented him for doing the things he enjoyed most….including talking and dancing. Robert and Lois were married in 1988 and Lois’ children quickly became his as well. Wayne Pedersen (Teresa Anne Sutherland); Joanne (Darren Turnbull) and Brenda (Scott Lavalley) have fond memories of their own of Robert. Robert is well known for his jovial disposition, funny jokes and quips and his laughter. His 14 grandchildren have fond memories of a grandfather (Pépère) who played various games with them and taught them all how to play a “good game of cards”! Even some of his 10 great-grandchildren have had the opportunity to know him and have heard him play the piano at family gatherings. Robert will be greatly missed not only by his family but also by many friends and colleagues that have had the pleasure of getting to know him. Rest in Peace Robert…..you can now “breathe easy”. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue, SK on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Phong Tran as celebrant. Interment of the Urn will follow in the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Robert may be directed to the Saskatchewan Lung Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
