February 14, 1958 – August 20, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Alan Mogg announce his passing. On August 20, 2019, Ron passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Ron was born February 14, 1958, in Kinistino, Saskatchewan. Ron attended both Simpson School in Yorkton, SK and Connaught School until moving to Prince Albert where he attended Prince Charles School for Grade 7-8, moving onto Riverside School for Grades 9-11 followed by Carlton Comprehensive High School graduating Grade 12 in 1976. Following High School, he worked at Frank Dunn Toyota until he began his career in 1980 with the Prince Albert Fire Department.
Ron was blessed with three children that he loved very much. Chad was born in 1981, Christina in 1985 and Michael in 1989.
Ron was very involved in the community sitting on various boards; Parkland Health Region, Prince Albert Group Home Society and held the position for a period of time as the President of the Prince Albert Fire Association Union.
Ron was a very hard working, caring and a patient man. He had a heart of gold and thoroughly enjoyed taking care of others. Ron had such a great sense of humour and had a way of bringing the people around him to laughter.
Ron married his loving wife, Bronagh Doyle in October of 1997 and made the decision after a hard working career to retire from the Fire Department in 1999 and embark on a new journey. In this next chapter of his life, Ron and Bronagh moved overseas to make Ireland their new home.
Ron worked at Dell for 13 years and in 2013 started a new position with Symantec where he currently worked.
Ron and Bronagh enjoyed travelling over to Spain, watching a match in the pub, family gatherings and enjoying sitting out in their back garden with their fur babies.
Ron became ill during the winter of 2019. He was such a fighter and fought right up until sadly he lost his courageous battle with cancer.
Ron was predeceased by his Father Ellis Mogg, Mother Catherine Weatherby, Step Father Robert Weatherby, Brother James (Jimmy) Mogg and Brother in-law Dave Doyle.
Ron will be sadly missed by his wife, Bronagh Doyle, children Chad (Brandy) Mogg, Christina Dumont, Michael (Samantha) Mogg, grandchildren Ava, Brooklyn, Natalie, Layla, and Nikolai. Sisters Darlene (Doug) Newsham, Judy (Gord) Reichel, Cheryl Mogg, Catherine O’Leary. Brother in-laws Max (Collette) Doyle, Ger (Mary) Doyle and Aidan (Jo) Doyle. Special lifelong friends Barry Hayden and Jennifer Antonson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Ron will be laid to rest on Monday August 26, 2019 surrounded by family in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. He will be sadly and forever missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and being a part of his life. He was truly one of a kind and we will all now be missing a part of our heart.
A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday September 1, 2019, at Par Place, Prince Albert, SK. Please come and help celebrate the great man Ron was. There will be an open mic for anyone wishing to share stories.
Thank you to all of the Doctors, nurses and medical staff at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin who provided Ron with the top notch care. The family will be forever grateful.
