December 17, 1923 – February 27, 2019
Ruby Harrington passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Rosthern Hospital from congestive heart failure at the age of 95 years. She was born on December 17, 1923 in Brockington, SK to John and Annie Magdalena (nee Hendrickson) Hallen. She was the youngest of five children Edna, Roy, Edward and Gordon. On November 21, 1945 Ruby married the love of her life John Lewis “Jack” Harrington in Kinistino, SK. She farmed with her husband in the Gowanbrae district, a close-knit community. She was a homemaker raising three children. In 1971she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was associated with Melfort and later the Prince Albert congregation, making lifelong friends. Ruby is survived by her children: Carol (Norman) Sturby, Sandra (William) Hill and Robert “Bob” Harrington; grandchildren: Trevor (Pam) Hall and Tara (Ashley) Schopp; great grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Jacey Schopp and Noah, Brayden, Jesse Hall; nieces, nephews and the many friends “adopted: into the family. She was predeceased by her husband John Lewis “Jack” Harrington on August 27, 2000; parents John and Annie Hallen and siblings Edna Murphy, Roy, Edward and Gordon Hallen. Memorial Service will be held at 200 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4350 – 2nd Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Norman Sturby officiating. Reception to follow at the Nordale Community Hall. Thank you to staff at the Victoria Hospital, Duck Lake Goodwill Manor and the Rosthern Hospital that kindly cared for Ruby’s needs during the last 2 months. Thank you to her friends that offered loving support during her declining health. She will be remembered for her interest in the people around her; her kindness and her firm faith in God’s word and future promises. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
