SCHMID, Mr. Devin

On Sunday, May 19, 2019 Devin Michael Schmid passed away suddenly at the age of 48 years in Prince Albert, SK. Devin was born September 16, 1970 in City Hospital, Saskatoon, SK to Bert and Darlene Schmid. Never far was his sister Jodi when the two were growing up he attended Elementary School in Saskatoon and graduated from Walter Murray. Devin had made his permanent residence in Meath Park, loving the small-town life. He spent his time camping, loving his drives in the country roads, challenging anyone to a board game or for those that wanted more risk to a Blackjack game. On January 17, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church Devin wed Cynthia Crystal Roberts and together they were hoping to merge their lives together and be a family never expecting to be taken so young. Devin was known for his sales experience in furniture sales with the greater part of his career being the Manager of United Furniture Warehouse. Due to restructuring of the business three years ago he joined the team at Eagle’s Nest. His care and concern for all the children he encountered was right up his alley.
Devin leaves to mourn his wife Cynthia Schmid (nee Roberts), sons Alex and Cameron Schmid, parents: Bert and Darlene Schmid, grandmother Ida Muller, sister: Jodi (Jason) Pawliw and their children Mathew, Jasmine, Riley and Katherine, step-children: Ryan Roberts, Ashley Woods, Kayla Roberts, Thomas Roberts and Sara Roberts, and three step grandchildren.
Devin is predeceased by his grandparents: Alwin and Martha Schmid, and grandfather Edwin Muller.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Hugh Farmer officiating at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1796 15 Ave. E, Prince Albert, SK. Donations in Devin’s memory can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 114 Maxwell Crescent, Saskatoon, SK S7L 3Y2. The family would like to thank the first responders, emergency staff and doctors at Victoria Hospital for their care and concern for Devin and his family, to Grays Funeral Chapel for all their help compassion and knowledge through his difficult time.
