Shirley Tracey, passed away peacefully at Lee Manor in Owen Sound, on May 13, 2022. Shirley Kay (née Gonder) Tracey of Owen Sound, was in her 84th year. Loving mother of Jacquie Tracey (John Hromin), and the late Chad Tracey (Hazel Ling). Cherished grandma of Maren Ling Tracey Graves (Jacob Graves). Dear sister of Robert Gonder (Chloe Schopf), Murray Gonder (Udell McNabb), John Gonder (Jennifer Tennant), and sister-in-law of Yvonne Gonder and Lorraine Hiscox. Shirley will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of the family and her dear friends in Saskatchewan and northern Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Ted Tracey, her son Chad Tracey, her parents Clarence and Katherine (née Murray) Gonder, and her brothers Lloyd K. Gonder and wife Doris, Duncan Gonder and wife Shirley, Douglas Gonder and James Gonder. Special ‘thank you’ to Dr Van Zyl and the wonderful staff at Lee Manor for the loving care and compassion given to Shirley over the years and to the staff at Grey Bruce Health Services. Shirley will be deeply missed and forever loved and we take comfort knowing she is resting in peace with her beloved husband and son. As per Shirley’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. The service will be livestreamed from the funeral home website (www.woodfuneralhome.ca) and a recorded version will be posted to Shirley’s memorial webpage. Private interment will take place in Foot’s Bay Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada and Canadian Cardiovascular Society would be appreciated.
