On July 11, 2018, and after a long battle with cancer, Mom went peacefully to be with Dad in heaven. She has left to mourn her five children: Shelley, Patrick, Vickie Baldwin (Gayne), Michael, and Tanis Lewko (William); 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.

          Mom is predeceased by her husband, Ed, of 59 years; her parents Mike and Helen Kalyn, sisters Annie and Sophie, and brothers John and Mike; an infant daughter Colleen Hayduk; and a daughter in law Julie Leier.

Mom worked for 25 years at the Saskatchewan Regional Laundry in Prince Albert. She also farmed with Dad in the Red Deer Hill area for 56 years before moving to Saskatoon. Mom enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, playing cards, drinking coffee, and baking. She made sure family and friends never went without her baking at Christmas. In the summer she kept herself busy with making perogies, cabbage rolls, beet rolls, pizza buns, and canned fruits & vegetables.

          Mom’s true passion in life was ensuring she was always available to assist and give advice to her children and grandchildren. At Mom’s request, a private service will be held with interment at Memorial Gardens.
