Victoria Elizabeth Koziol (nee Smytaniuk) was born on Saturday, June 3, 1939 in Prince Albert, SK, and passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 79 years. Vicky took her schooling in Prince Albert and then worked at Burns with her father, Metro. There she met her life partner, Frank, who she married in Prince Albert on July 13, 1957. After five years of marriage, they were blessed with their first daughter, Bonnie. Two years later, Shelley came along. Vicky stayed home to raise the girls while Frank continued to work. Vicky, Frank, and their girls shared a love of the outdoors, camping, fishing, and “laking it” was routinely enjoyed by the whole family. The arrival of their granddaughter, Allison, brightened her world. Time spent together playing cards, catch, and putting curlers in each other’s hair was a highlight for both of them. Family was a priority and Mom spent many hours enjoying and supporting immediate and extended family. Mom was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage. Victoria is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Koziol, Shelley (Terry) Oleksyn; her granddaughter, Allison; her sisters-in-law—Madge Smytaniuk, and her children Debbie (Mike) Diakiw, Diane (Neil) Chesley, Larry, Mark (Carla) and Darren (Sarah); Loretta Ingram and her children, Tammy (Kent) Strandquist and their children Trey and Bailey, Troy (Melanie) and their children Luca, Finn and Tate; her brother-in-law, John Koziol and his children Lee, Shawn (Sarah) and Amber; and many other great nieces, nephews and special cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Koziol; her parents, Metro and Sadie (nee Moldowan) Smytaniuk; her father and mother-in-law, Joe and Elsie (nee Grimm) Koziol; her brother, William Smytaniuk; her brother-in-law, Marvin Ingram; her nephews, Eugene, Randy and Joseph. Victoria’s prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at River Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 305 6th Street East, Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz presiding. Interment to follow at the South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the PD Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital, 3rd Floor, 1702, 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0Z9.
