It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Violet Mary Bosomworth at the great age of 92 years.

Born in London, England November 20, 1926 to Charles and Rose Bowyer. Violet was the third oldest of eight. Growing up in London during World War II was interesting to say the least. Violet spent one summer out of London due to increased bombing. One such Air Raid took her father and left her Mother to raise her family alone. 

One evening at a dance Violet noticed a solider who was a very good dancer. He was a Saskatchewan boy serving in Holland on leave in London. He was to be her future husband William Bosomworth. 
Within a year they were married in Westminster Abby in London and they planned to move to Canada to start their lives together. In her own words Violet said ” I traveled to Canada aboard the Queen Mary along with all the other war brides. We all hoped for a great life in Canada.” She arrived by ship to Halifax and then boarded a train for ride to the prairies. 

Violet arrived to meet her husband Bill and from the train it was to the family farm. Opportunity arose for them to move to Prince Albert in 1952. Years later with Bill’s new job at the Saskatchewan Pen they built a new house on 7th Street with their two sons John and Gary. Later Brian and Glen would arrive. Many happy years to come raising four boys with her loving husband Bill.
Many plans change.  On March 1st, 1978 Violet lost her husband suddenly to a heart illness. She now was facing life on her very own.

If you could show a picture of determination and self assurance, it would be Violet. Staying in Prince Albert for a year she decided to venture out to Victoria. A touch of the British ways lured her out. She had a grandson Brook there and her son Glen moved out right after and still lives there today.
Sixteen years later another move was made, this time Saskatoon became her home. Her family was in Saskatchewan and she enjoyed Saskatoon.  Till the last three years she has enjoyed living in Prince Albert at the Abbeyfield house. 

She spent her life carrying about others yet decided to live alone and she was comfortable doing it. She kept in touch with her siblings on a regular basis and was so proud of her family – sons, daughters in law, grandchildren and great grand children. 

She was predeceased by her husband Bill; her son Gary; her parents Charles and Rose; sisters Rose and Lily and brother Jimmy. 

She is survived by her two sisters Ann and Dorothy and her brother Terry; her sons John (Dianne Piecoweye),  Brian (Dianne), Glen (Colleen Recknagle) and their families.

 A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Violet will be held Thursday, May 9th at 1:30 pm at the Abbeyfield House, 190 26th Street East,  Prince Albert, SK.
