Virginia Therese Netmaker Nee: Bear

1959 – 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia Netmaker of Big River First Nation SK. announces her passing on February 24, 2018 at the age of 58 years.

The Wake began at the Big River First Nation Band Hall on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 2:30 pm. A Funeral Service took place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from the Big River First Nation Band Hall with the Elders officiating. Internment was in the Whitefish Anglican Cemetery following the service. Virginia is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jerry Netmaker; her son, Jerry Jr. (Debbie) Bear; her daughter, Felicia Bear; her grandchildren:  Kelly, Preston, Sequin and Tara; numerous other grandchildren; her brothers: Vernon Bear, Phillip Bear, Gerald (Wanita) Bear and Michael Dreaver; her sisters:  Lorette (Gary) Dreaver, Lisa (Jeff) Watier,  Aldina Dreaver, Sunshine (Arron) Dreaver, Leane  Dreaver, Brenda Dreaver and Linda Sanderson; her mom’s:  Bertha Dreaver, Florence Dreaver and Virginia (Calvin) Dreaver Bear; her uncles:   Gordon Dreaver, Mervin (Lorraine) Dreaver and Tom Rainey; her in-laws: Loreen Buffalo, Sylvia Bear, Patsy Keenatch, Eliza Lachance and Lawrence Netmaker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Alice Bear; her grandparents, John and Alice Dreaver; her brothers, Leonard Bear, Richard Bear, Clifford Bear; her children, Jesse J. Bear, Joane Netmaker; her aunts, Dorothy Rainey and Sophie Keenatch; her nieces, Miley Pearl Dreaver, Kayla Buffalo.

Honorary Pallbearers were Lola Bear, Martin Netmaker, Robert Bear, Maxine Bear, Mich Keenatch, Brian Dreaver, Lorraine Morin, Lawrence Lachance. Pallbearers were Elvis Dreaver, Richard “Cheemin” Thomas, Harry Lachance, Kelly Dreaver, Dallas “Ringo” Fiddler, and Clarence Bear.
