April 24, 1946 – October 4, 2018
It is with broken hearts the family of Wayne Swenson of Quill Lake, SK. announce his passing on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Royal University Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 72 years of age. Wayne was a devoted husband to Ruth (nee Paterson) Swenson for 37 years. Together in their journey they celebrated many milestones and made many memories golfing, camping, building and curling. Wayne was the loving father to 4 children and their families: Shawna (Curt) Kowalchuk of Perdue, Sk. Ronda Swenson of Debden, SK and Curtis Swenson of Wadena, SK. He was predeceased by his son Brett Swenson of Prince Albert, SK. He had three grandchildren that he loved dearly, Brady Kowalchuk, Kirsten Robert and Baylee Swenson. He had many siblings who held a special place in his heart: Judy (Al) Reynolds, Ron (Christie) Swenson, Peggy (Dan) Watt, Randy (Lori) Swenson and Allan Swenson. His siblings-in-law were always a huge part of his life, Linda Paterson, Lois Paterson (special friend Dave Atter), Laurie (Reg) Bentley and Iris (Bruce) Fjeld. His family included numerous nieces and nephews that he loved as his own, and many friends who he cherished dearly. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Alma Swenson; parents-in-law Gord and Mae Paterson; and brother-in-law Kelly Paterson. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on October 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the Quill Lake Community Legion Hall in Quill Lake, SK. The family asks that anyone in attendance come in casual dress as Wayne was a casual man with no wishes for a “big fuss”. There will be a casual service with a come and go tea to follow. Flowers may be ordered from Humboldt Florists in trust to Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel. Memorial Donations in Wayne’s name may be directed to the workplace of son Curtis, Mallard Diversified Services, Inc. P.O. Box 7 Wadena, SK S0A 4J0.
