William Fuller

Bill peacefully closed his eyes and began his journey to walk with the Lord on the evening of May 15, 2019.
Bill was born October 8, 1941 in Shellbrook, SK, to Fred and Ruth Fuller. He was a baby brother for Betty and later, a big brother for Mary Jean. Bill lived his entire life on his family farm in Cameo, a small community west of Shellbrook. Bill met Sharon Kennedy of Leask, SK in 1969. Bill & Sharon were married on November 3rd, 1973. They raised 3 children on the family farm; Bonnie, Brenda, and Billy. Bill’s life was devoted to his family, farming the land, and tending his cattle. Through the years, Bill enjoyed numerous camping trips with family and friends, yearly summer vacations to British Columbia, fishing, hockey games, and later on, sharing his time with his grandchildren.
The last ten years were not how he had planned to spend his retirement. Shortly after retirement from his farming operation, Bill began to suffer medical issues, all of which he faced with courage, and strength. Despite his physical challenges, he persevered, and made the most of his time. Bill was happy to have enjoyed four trips to Hawaii, multiple trips to the “south” Fuller Farm, a trip to the East Coast, and time with his family and friends.
In the spring of 2016, Bill’s physical challenges became too difficult for he and Sharon to manage on the farm. It was an extremely difficult day for Bill and his entire family, when he became a resident at Whispering Pines Place, in Canwood. In March of 2017, Bill moved to his final residence at Lakeland Trail, at the Herb Bassett Home, in Prince Albert. Despite this never really “being home” Bill managed to “cope”. Though Bill had daily struggles his caregivers at the Herb Bassett were nothing less than patient, kind and compassionate, they became an addition to his extend family. Bill’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Michael Kelly, Dr. Rohan Cornelissen, Dr. Craig Cantin, Michelle Herbst Sutor, and the all of the staff at Lakeland Trail, in the Herb Bassett Home.
Bill is survived by: his loving spouse of 50 years Sharon; daughter, Bonnie (Mark MacInnis) and grandchildren, Janaya & Teegan; daughter, Brenda (Jason Bischler); son, William “Billy” (Theresa) and grandchildren, Wyatt, Grace, and Clara; sisters, Betty (Robert) Barkway and Mary Jean Schapansky; mother-in-law, Grace Kennedy; sister-in-law, Beverly Kennedy; brothers-in-law, Norris (Beverley) Kennedy and Marlon (Brenda) Kennedy. Bill is also survived by his honorary family: children, Lisa Gibb and Marty Robinson; grandchildren, James and Jessie Selinger; Mackenzie and Zachary Robinson; Cody, Brett, Demery and Jenaya Bischler; brothers, Don Hunter, Garry Buckingham, Jim Cooper, Larry Aug and Dennis Larson; sister, Lucille Ahlquist; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was predeceased by his infant son, Herman Arthur; parents, Fred and Ruth (Waller) Fuller; sister, June Marie; special uncle, Arthur Fuller; special aunt, Nell Otte; father-in-law, Herman Kennedy; brothers-in-law, Garth Kennedy and Tom Schapansky.
Happily, Bill spent his final day in the company of his beloved Sharon and special “sister” Lucille while enjoying the typical shenanigans of some of his favourite caregivers.
