Chargers take second place at CCHS basketball tournament

It was a second-place win for the Chargers at the Churchill Community High School Senior Boys Basketball Invitational over the weekend.

That’s according to Coach Derek Konga who said eight teams including Creighton, Cumberland House, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, La Loche, La Ronge, Sandy Bay and the Lac La Ronge.....

New system coming to inform residents about criminal activity

Residents of northern Saskatchewan will soon have a new tool to track crime trends and ongoing criminal activity in their region.

At an information session held this morning at La Ronge’s Kikinahk Friendship Centre, RCMP Cpl. Mel Zurevinsky said the provincial government will announce the rollout of the Everbridge.....

LLRIB chief shocked by shooting which left young boy with serious injuries

The chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) is asking for prayers for a young boy and his family who were recent victims of a shooting.

La Ronge Council to push for five per cent liquor tax at upcoming SUMA convention

La Ronge Council will be calling for the provincial government to implement a five per cent tax on the sale of alcohol next month at the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association’s (SUMA) annual conference.

Peer support program at CCHS recognized with grant

A student led initiative at Churchill Community High School was recognized with a $2,000 grant this morning during a special presentation in the gymnasium.

The recipient of the Share2Care grant was the school’s peer support program, which includes 11 student volunteers in multiple grades. According to a media release,.....
