New North Mayors gathering sparks discussion about cannabis

Mayors from the northern regions of Saskatchewan are gathered in Prince Albert for their fall meeting, and one panel about cannabis sparked discussions.

The topic was broached during a discussion panel about next year's planned legalization of recreational pot.

Sask. Chief selected to committee choosing RCMP Commissioner

Northern Saskatchewan will be represented on the committee selecting candidates for the RCMP’s top job.

Relief from the unseasonably cold weather this month is coming today in the form of temperatures up to 5 C, but according to Environment Canada, the nice weather comes with its own set of hazards.

A candidate for the chief of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation who was once deemed ineligible to run for election has taken the nation’s headdress.

PBCN Chief commits full support to stop bootlegging

The Chief of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) says he fully supports the idea of check stops to help curb illegal bootlegging.

Seven people were charged in the Creighton area last weekend. Several of those communities targeted fall under the jurisdiction of the PBCN.

Missing Warman man found

RCMP reported later Wednesday that John Wall of Warman had been found safe.
