Second-degree murder charges laid in Black Lake shooting

Police have laid charges after a homicide in Black Lake.

According to an RCMP news release, on Nov. 1 shortly after 8 a.m., Black Lake RCMP received a report of a male being shot outside of a residence in the community.

Upon arrival at the residence, police arrested an adult male responsible for the shooting without incident. Police also seized a firearm and the scene was secured for further investigation.

RCMP noted EMS transported the 29-year-old male victim to hospital in Stony Rapids, but he passed away shortly afterwards from his injuries. Victim Services has been provided to the victim’s family and they continues to remain engaged to provide support.

Jimmy Vince Robillard, 43, of Black Lake, was charged with second-degree murder for the death of Bruce Dadzene. Robillard was held in custody until his first appearance in Provincial Court in Black Lake on Nov. 3.

RCMP added the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service conducted an autopsy on the deceased male on Nov. 2 in Saskatoon.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit South, Forensic Identification Services from Prince Albert and the Black Lake RCMP detachment.
